IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF ASSISTED OR INDEPENDENT LIVING,
THERE ARE ADDITIONAL BENEFITS FROM THE VA FOR
VETERANS OR WIDOWS OF VETERANS.

There is a tax free pension benefit to help with the cost of assisted living, nursing home or independent living with assistance. These are benefits available for Wartime Veterans or Widows of Wartime Veterans.

As of December 1, 2008:
Veteran aid & attendance without dependent - $1,644/mo.
Veteran aid & attendance with one dependent - $1,949/mo.
Two Veterans married to each other - $2,537/mo.
Surviving spouse aid & attendance - $1,055/mo.
